SUMMARY:Resilience in Interpreting
DESCRIPTION:While everyone is preparing and talking about the advent of Artificial Intelligence and its impact on the interpreting industry\, interpreters cannot but worry and fear for their livelihood. In addition\, the work of an interpreter requires accuracy\, tenacity\, and emotional strength. Like with anyone working in medical\, community and court settings\, interpreters will face work-related stress. This presentation sheds light on the emotional toll that interpreters face every day. This presentation provides the audience with practical coping mechanisms tailored specifically for interpreters working in high stress environments. Ultimately\, this presentation aims to foster resilience in the face of change and empower interpreters with tools to manage vicarious trauma and stress.
