Learn with Alex Fidalgo

CHW, CARC, TACIII | Bilingual, CCAR-Credentialed Instructor

CHI’s Recovery Coach Training is led by Alex Fidalgo, a highly experienced bilingual instructor who brings cultural awareness and a trauma-informed approach to recovery coach education.

Working alongside bilingual CHI staff, Alex guides participants through interactive learning, practical skills exercises, and locally relevant resources. His approach prepares trainees to support multicultural and multilingual communities with confidence, compassion, and respect.

Make a Difference in Your Community

Recovery Coaches support individuals across different cultures, ages, and stages of recovery. They may work alongside healthcare and behavioral health providers, social workers, outreach workers, and crisis teams.

Recovery coaching can take place in a variety of settings, including:

  • Peer recovery centers
  • Hospitals and outpatient programs
  • Police departments and crisis response programs
  • Senior centers and services
  • Community outreach and street outreach programs

Our Commitment to Health Equity

Since 1982, CHI has strengthened the frontline health workforce and advanced health and language equity across Massachusetts.

We recruit and support trainees from communities that are underrepresented in the health workforce, including Black, Indigenous, and other people of color. We value the lived experiences, language skills, and community connections participants bring to their work.

Our Recovery Coach Training reflects this commitment by preparing participants to serve diverse communities with compassion, respect, and cultural understanding.
