About the Center for Health Impact

The Center for Health Impact, formerly known as Central Massachusetts Area Health Education Center, Inc., is a Woman Non-Profit Organization (W/NPO) 501(c)3 certified by the Massachusetts Supplier Diversity Office. The Center was founded in 1982 with the mission to enhance access to quality health care, promote workforce development, and eliminate health disparities.

About Our History

Programs and Services

Our service area extends throughout Massachusetts, New England and the United States. The Center’s activities include:

  • Multilingual interpreter services and translation services
  • Community Health Worker training programs
  • Medical interpreter training programs
  • Customized consulting, including curricula development; training and technical assistance; and workforce policy and advocacy development.
  • Community health assessment
  • Qualitative research activities
  • Community-based training for medical students and residents
  • Health career recruitment programs aimed at underserved multilingual and multicultural communities
  • Support of local community-based coalitions advocating for appropriate health service delivery systems
